The Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) course delivers the essential principles, skills and knowledge to maintain or restore breathing and circulation in an adult, child or infant. The course content is based on the policies and standards of the Australian Resuscitation Council.
Course Content- Recognise an emergency situation
- Legal Issues and infection control
- Assessing the casualty and recognising the need for CPR
- Emergency action plan – DRSABCD
- Plan an appropriate first aid response
- Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- Adult, Infant and child CPR rates and techniques
- One and two-person CPR techniques
- Use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
This course is assessed through demonstration, presentation and application of all elements of competency in the workplace. Participants will be required to complete activities that may include role-plays, oral and written questioning, practical demonstrations and performing scenarios.
*Please note, it is a requirement of this course that practical demonstration of CPR must be performed on the floor.
AccreditationUpon successful completion of the course, participants will receive a nationally recognised statement of attainment for the following unit of competence:
HLTAID001 – Provide Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation
ValidityOne (1) year from date of course. It is recommended by the Australian Resuscitation Council that you update your CPR skills every 12 months.
Cancellation Policy An application for refund of course fees must be made in writing to Australian Lifesaver Training. Where cancellation is made less than five (5) working days prior to the commencement of a course, 50% of the course fees will be charged. Participants who leave before finishing the course or do not commence their course without submitting a written refund request will be charged the full course fees.
